Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan lightly.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk granulated sugar, brown sugar, apple cider, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined (a few lumps are okay).
  • Transfer the batter into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off. Pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. Donuts should spring back when gently touched. Avoid overbaking.
  • Allow donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. While still slightly warm, dip each donut into a bowl of cinnamon-sugar coating for an even coat.
  • Serve and enjoy! Best enjoyed on the day they're made.

Notes

  • Use fresh apple cider for that unbeatable apple sweetness.
  • Ensure your ingredients like eggs and milk are at room temperature for a smoother batter.
  • Grease your donut pan lightly so the donuts come out easily.
  • Let the donuts cool a bit before coating them in cinnamon sugar for the perfect finish.
